About Us

Founding and Early Days

Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary was founded in 2005 by Jane and Peter, a couple who had a passion for orangutans and their welfare. They had previously worked in the field of conservation, but were appalled by the increasing threats facing orangutans in the wild. They decided to take action and create a safe haven for orangutans who were victims of deforestation, habitat loss, and the illegal wildlife trade.

Initially, the sanctuary was a modest operation, with just a few rescued orangutans living in basic enclosures. However, with the help of volunteers and supporters, the sanctuary grew over the years. In 2010, a large tract of land was donated to the sanctuary, allowing for the construction of spacious enclosures and facilities for the orangutans.

Blossom Today: Leading the Charge in Orangutan Rescue

Today, Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary is a leading organization in orangutan rescue and rehabilitation. They have rescued and rehabilitated over 100 orangutans, many of whom have been successfully released back into the wild. The sanctuary also provides lifelong care for orangutans who are unable to be released, ensuring that they live in a safe and comfortable environment for the rest of their lives.

Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary continues to work tirelessly to protect orangutans and their habitat. They collaborate with local communities and government agencies to promote sustainable development and conservation practices, and are actively involved in education and outreach programs to raise awareness about orangutan conservation.
